Description

This is a small version of a traditional Finnish board game called Korona. It belongs to the same group of the games, which are called most often Carrom or Karom. Korona is played normally on a plywood board by 2 players, who try to hit small pucks into the holes , which are in the corners of the board. In the original Finnish Korona each player has in the beginning normally 8 pucks on the opposite ends of the board. They hit those by a striker, which is a little bigger than other pucks. The striker is hit always from a starting line upwards using a wooden stick.
In this small version of Korona is used 6 pucks and one player is continuing unless all pucks are in the holes. The result is the number of "turns" he/she used for sinking all pucks. The same turn continues if one or more pucks go into a hole but the striker does not.
E.g. When he starts, it is the 1st turn. He will get by the next shot one puck into a hole so the 1st turn continues.. He fails with the next shot, so the 2nd turn starts, etc.
In a normal Korona,
2 players play against each other at the same time. In this version, one player plays at a time. He can play alone against a
target (turns) set by the program, or he can play with a friend using the same phone/tablet.
The goal is to get all pucks into holes with
a smaller number of turns than the opponent or the target set by the equipment. The number of turns is calculated as in the normal Korona.
In the two player game, the player 1 starts and hit all the pucks into holes. The result is the number of turns needed. Then the second player does the same. The winner of this heat is, who used less turns. Who won first 5 heats, won the whole game.
In a single player game, the machine simulates the opponent by setting the target number you have to win. There are 10 levels from Beginner to Champion in the game, and the target number is more difficult to win on upper levels. At each level, however, the target number varies within the heats. On the lowest level it is average 9, but on the Champion level most often 1 or 2, maximum 5.
